Our Staff

Every client is taken through each stage of their training programme individually by one of our experienced and enthusiastic instructors. At regular intervals each member will have a private consultation with Paul Slythe, Ian Sage, Emma, Tina or one of the other fully qualified instructors, who will devise appropriate training programmes.

If you have any queries about training, then please feel free to ring or fill out our contact page. A member of staff will get in touch.

About me...

Since passing my first course in 2000, I have been mainly based at Bob Prowse Health Club. I maintain an interest in body problems such as mis-alignment of the spine, degenerative diseases and the more functional issues that are involved in all general lifestyles, causing body issues from jobs, previous injuries and interests such as specific hobbies or a long term habits.

I have always enjoyed working around people and love being part of a team. At Bob Prowse, the first thing people mention is the atmosphere and how friendly everyone is.

Training for me is mostly circuits in the gym, but it does differ from doing swimming, cycling, running and classes.

I love working here, gaining trust both from the employers and the clients. Seeing people achieve goals or feel better just because I took notice is part of the reason why I put in as much as I can.

Everybody is different, this reflects in every aspect of their life, we are here to help solve the problems.

Gym Instructor

Tina Mackereth

Qualifications

B.A.W.L.A Trained, 20 years experience

About me...

I have been here since Bob Prowse owned the gym and have worked closely with Ian and Paul for awhile. I love working around people and I love introducing them to training, so they can start to feel the many benefits. I tend to train with my clients, so if you are shy, it will help you feel confident, which is something that I consider to be important. My shift is on a Tuesday afternoon and evening, which is when I train whilst teaching my popular Abs Class and can be booked for specific ladies training which, when writing out your balanced programme, we can focus on toning the legs, bum, tummy and arms. I run my own beauty therapy outside of working at Bob Prowse, which is another of my passions.

B.A.W.L.A Trained, nearly 15 years experience.

About me...

I started working here in 1996 after completing my award for instruction. My shift is on a Monday evening where I can train alongside you whilst teaching your programme, I find that this helps you gain a good idea of rest time between sets and also enables you to watch how the exercise is to be performed. My training consists of long distance running, which is my passion, training for marathons and weights.

About Me...

I started training at Bob Prowse when my Dad brought a membership for me and my brother a few years ago and since then I have come on leaps and bounds in my training. As I am young, Paul and Ian helped me to get fitter and tone up alittle differently, so it was all done with precaution using a carefully selected group of weights and exercises.

It is during that time that I realised exercise was great fun and made me do more outside of the gym.

Even though I cannot train you, I will always be on hand every Wednesday evening to help out with anything you need from making you protein shake to helping you understand how your programme is written.

As the newest member of the team, I am really learning alot! I joined Bob Prowse in 2010, wishing to train to keep fit as I have always been very active! After meeting all the staff on a work experience, I realised that I would love to become a pyhsical therapist and as I also have an interest in Bowen therapy, I thought that training to become an Instructor would complement my other interests.

I am currently studying and working towards completing my qualification for Fitness Instructor by the end of August 2011. I love working here and am always happy to help with anything you need!!
